A choice of impressive vessels to accommodate your party

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring my own food on board?

Of course! We have recommended caterers within the suppliers' section of this website, all of whom are familiar with the set up on board our Jacobite vessels. These are just recommendations, so should you wish to use other caterers, please feel free. However, we would strongly recommend that you don't drop any food overboard, we don't encourage feeding the Monster!

Can I bring my own alcohol on board?

Yes, you can bring wine and champagne on board, but unfortunately we do not allow spirits to be taken on board. Please note that if you wish to bring your own wine or champagne, there is a corkage charge of £8.50 per 75cl bottle of wine and £10 per bottle of champagne. There is a fully stocked bar on each of our boats which sell a variety of soft and alcoholic beverages, teas and coffees at reasonable costs. You should also be aware that consumption of alcohol may significantly increase your chances of seeing Nessie!

Can I have my 18th/21st birthday party or stag/hen parties on board?

At Jacobite, we love a good celebration! However, we are sure that you understand that an excess of alcohol and deep water do not mix and therefore we are sorry to say that we do not accept bookings for 18th/21st birthdays and hen/stag parties.

How many people can we bring on board?

We love having lots of visitors but we know that it's also important to have elbow space! Numbers will depend on which boat you choose to hire (each boat has a different capacity) and also whether or not you have catering and/or entertainment. The number of people each vessel can carry is detailed within the fleet section of this website.

Can we leave earlier than the times indicated?

Yes, depending on our other sailing commitments. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Can we return later than the times indicated?

British Waterways require that we return through the locks at Dochgarroch no later than 10.30pm and all music will cease 10 minutes before docking. Nessie doesn't like it when her beauty sleep is disturbed!

Can we sell tickets to the general public for our charter?

No, bookings are only accepted from companies, clubs or groups where the person responsible for the booking will be on board to ensure good order.
